Youth Sports Offered By Wendell Rec District

Basketball

Skill League

The focus of this program is to teach young players basic skills and basketball fundamentals. This program is open to 1st through 4th grade boys and girls. Skill sessions will be held weekday evenings. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Traveling League

Wendell Recreation District provides an educational program to develop basketball skills in a friendly and encouraging environment. This program is open to all 5th & 6th grade boys and girls. Games will be held on Saturdays. We will host games in Wendell and travel to neighboring towns in the Magic Valley for games. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Youth Wrestling

Wendell Recreation District provides basic skills and fundamental instruction with the Kindergarten through 6th grade wrestling program. Practices will be held twice a week on weekday evenings at coach’s discretion. Participants will compete on Saturdays at meets in Wendell and neighboring towns in the Magic Valley. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Soccer

Beginner / Junior Soccer League

Wendell Recreation District provides an educational program to develop basic soccer skills and concepts in a friendly and encouraging environment. This program is open to all K4 – 2nd grade boys and girls. We will host all games in Wendell on Saturdays. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Intermediate / Senior Soccer League

Wendell Recreation District provides an educational program to develop soccer skills and concepts in a friendly and encouraging environment. This program is open to all 3rd – 6th grade boys and girls. We will host all games in Wendell on Saturdays. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

This program is open to all k-4th grade boys and girls. We host games in Wendell and travel to neighboring towns in the Magic Valley for games. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Tackle Football

Wendell Recreation District provides a learning program to develop tackle football skills in a friendly and encouraging environment. This program is open to all 5th & 6th grade boys and girls. All players must register with the League Commissioner and weigh in and have a physical in order to be eligible. We will host games in Wendell and travel to neighboring towns in the Magic Valley for games. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Youth Baseball/Softball

Summer Baseball/Softball

Wendell Recreation District provides a baseball/softball learning and developing program in a friendly and encouraging environment. Proper sports development is achieved by children participating in age appropriate activities so that they are able to experience, comprehend, and execute the game as it relates to where they are in their cognitive development. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

• Ages 9-10 | C League Fastpitch Softball Girls |
• Ages 9-10 | Minor Little League Boys |

• Ages 13-15 | A League Fastpitch Softball Girls |
• Ages 13-15 | Pony League |

Wendell Recreation District provides an educational program to develop basic volleyball skills and concepts in a friendly and encouraging environment. This program is open to all 3rd through 6th grade girls. We host matches in Wendell and travel to neighboring towns in the Magic Valley as well. Practices will be at each coach’s discretion. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.

Wendell Recreation District provides an educational program to develop competitive advanced swimming skills and concepts in a friendly and encouraging environment. This program is open to established swimmers who can swim one length of our pool without help and can back float. Boys and girls who are 5 years old through 18 years are welcome to join our team. Our league is associated with Sagebrush Swim League. We host meets in Wendell and travel to neighboring towns in the Magic Valley as well. Practices will be during weekday mornings at the coach’s discretion. Meets are scheduled throughout weekday evenings or Saturday mornings. League typically runs June & July. All participants and parent/guardian must complete a Wendell Recreation District registration and participation form.
